Program Overview

Locations: Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuzhen, and Beijing, China

During the four weeks, you will study one of the oldest living languages and experience the unique Chinese culture. Through different cities and having direct contact with the local people, you will get a glimpse of Chinese mindsets and Eastern philosophies. Emphasis will be placed on language application and the learning of Chinese social norms, as well as communication skills. Apply what you’ve learned from textbooks in the authentic language surroundings.

The first week will be spent in the largest city of China—Shanghai with excursions to the high Tech city Hangzhou, the garden city Suzhou, the water town Zhouzhuang and many more. You will stay in Beijing for about 3 weeks to explore the contemporary and historical sites. There you will visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City,  the Temple of Heaven and many other must-go places that you may have seen from movies, TV or books.  Language proficiency, cultural competency, adaptation and communication skills are the takeaways that benefit you throughout your life. This “life-changing” program will definitely broaden your vision and change your way of thinking.

Activities and excursions are subject to change. Final itinerary details will be provided closer to the departure date.
