Siiri is a sophomore at UMD working 2 on-campus jobs: Study Abroad's Marketing and Communications Assistant & UMD Recreational Sports & Outdoor Program Operations Staff. She is also involved in Women in Business, Advertising and Marketing Club, and Yoga Club! She is majoring in Marketing with a minor in English and in the future hopes to work in a public relations position. Her junior year of high school, Siiri traveled to Ethiopia with her family, and got to experience a beautiful new culture which sparked her interest in studying abroad in college. She hopes to study abroad in Ireland next spring.
Most memorable views during your travels.
My most memorable view would be hiking through a Eucalyptus Forest in Ethiopia, the trees had a beautiful fragrant smell and were so tall they looked like they touched the sky.
What makes you happy?
Hiking, camping, and skiing make me happy. I love being in touch with nature.
What gets me out of bed in the morning?
Drinking a chai latte, it's my favorite drink and always gets my day started on the right foot.
Best advice to a future study abroad student:
Take in every little experience, the more you immerse yourself the more you'll get out of your trip.
